“Lydia is a dedicated, tenacious, creative force who energetically applies her talents to whatever project she undertakes. “Her characters are soulfully compelling”...  “The story drew me in from the start, an avid fan ever since” …  “Intelligent, insightful, and creative”... "A gifted writer.”

These are the kind words of my clients, colleagues, and peers when I asked, “Describe Lydia as if you were a film critic.” When I think of myself, the classic Our Gang characters come to mind. Spanky’s answer to every problem was “Let’s put on a show." I have worn many hats in my professional career, but at my core, I am a storyteller. I have applied that talent to various industries, including public relations, marketing, community relations, theater, professional sports, music, and finance. I am pleased with these achievements, building a career from a small corporate communications job to working with celebrities and prominent individuals on a national stage.

Yet my truest joy comes from writing and expressing my voice as a screenwriter. Like many Black and Indigenous women of color, I have encountered very few heroines on the big screen, particularly in my favorite genres, 

Sci-fi and action So, I create the characters I have always wanted to see come to life 

and I think there are many people who will relate to them.

In recent years, there have been many strides towards diversity and inclusion in the film and television industries, fueled by heightened racial injustice. Although the demand for change is encouraging, there is still no way to know if these efforts are sustainable. I believe that in order to have a lasting presence, it is crucial for content creators of color, like myself, to own and produce their projects.
